It is a quite long step for preparing a dinner menu. I suggest splitting it into two days. Do prep work so that it is easier on the dinner day.

Day 1

  1. Plan the menu, shop for the groceries and vegetables as required.
  2. Soak the chickpeas if using dried ones and pressure cook and keep it ready.
  3. Buy the canned chickpeas for the easier version.
  4. Do save the water from chickpeas for hummus. That makes it creamier.
  5. Prepare the dips and refrigerate them.
  6. You can prepare cranberry sauce ahead like 2-3 days before. It stays good for a week.
  7. Proof the herb oil and the dough for focaccia and allow them to be proof for the second time in the refrigerator.
  8. Chop veggies and refrigerate them.

Day 2

  1. Bake the focaccia.
  2. Bake the cake and prepare the icing.

  4. Prepare mashed potatoes.
  5. Prepare salad, brussels sprouts, and beans stir fry.

Before serving

  1. Arrange the table, centerpiece (I simply decorated with candles and pinecones), the plates, flatware, and food on the table to serve.
  2. Keep the drinks to serve.
  3. Make sure you have kept all the food on the table. I forgot my cranberry sauce.
  4. Arrange the crackers, vegetables on the tray. Have some olive oil on the bowl for Focaccia.
  5. Warm the pita. Arrange the bowl while eating.
  6. Top the cake with dressing and slice them.
