Nut Milk | Almond, Cashew, and Peanut Milk

Nut milk is easy to prepare at home, the main advantage of doing it yourself is the control over the ingredients you are adding. I have included three types of nut milk here, almond milk, cashew nut milk, and peanut milk. Comparably, the peanut milk was so thick and creamy.

Nut Milk

Try including nut milk in your cereal, smoothies, milkshakes, baking just like you use the dairy. Chocolate milk will taste good in almond/cashew milk. Peanut milk has the raw flavor of peanuts. Almond milk was neutral that you can use as an alternate for any recipe.

Variations

Use any type of nuts to prepare milk. Flavor with vanilla extract or any extract. Use dates, maple syrup for sweetener.

Preparing nut milk

Using 2 ingredients you can make different nut milk. Nuts and Milk. Easy steps for preparing the milk are

  • Soak
  • Rinse & Drain
  • Blend
  • Strain & Use

Soak nuts in water overnight or in hot water for 4-5 hours. If you forget the soaking nuts in the refrigerator. Don’t worry it lasts for a week. But make sure you are changing the water every day. Refrigerating allows the nuts not to ferment.
Rinse well until you see clear water. This helps to get clear milk. On a high-speed blender, blend nuts with water at a high speed until creamy.
Strain using a nut-milk bag or a cotton cloth(like a dish towel). save the pulp for baking goods and store the milk in a clean bottle and refrigerate it.
Use within 3-4 days.

Almond milk are too thick and creamy

I suggest you have always thick milk, depending upon the recipe you can dilute it later. Whenever you are diluting the milk, use hot water. If using cold water, it does not combine properly. Use hot or warm whenever you are diluting the milk.
