Instant Probiotic Oatmeal

Instant Probiotic Oatmeal is super quick oatmeal because you no need to soak them ahead, and since it contains yogurt in it ~ ease on your tummy. This Instant Probiotic oatmeal is great for weight loss, with no sugar added. If you forget to soak for overnight oats, then this is for you.

Instant Probiotic Oatmeal

If you are using quick oats then it cooks more easily. For Probiotic we are using buttermilk (plain yogurt + water). The consistency of the oats prepared here is neither thick nor thin. If you like your oats to be on the thicker side, mix Greek yogurt.

Pomegranate: Pomegranates have anti-viral, and anti-tumor properties, and contain vitamins and minerals including calcium, Potassium, Zinc, as well as antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E.

Variations:

If you like your oats to be thicker, combine Greek yogurt. I added pomegranate, you can add any one of your favorite fruit.

Do not add citrus fruits, since the oatmeal contains yogurt it doesn’t go well. Add any nuts of your choice.

Can I use Steelcut or Quick Oats?

Yes, definitely you can. It takes a longer time to cook. You can pressure cook so that you don’t stand near it. Quick oats – they can be cooked in a microwave too. Let it cool mix yogurt or buttermilk and enjoy your breakfast.

Can we make it as overnight oats?

Yes. Use rolled oats for this. Do not use steel-cut or quick oats. Soak the rolled oats in Greek yogurt and salt. Keep at room temperature for 30-60 minutes and refrigerate it. While serving add fruit of your choice.

Oatmeal for babies:

If preparing oatmeal for babies, grind the oats quickly for 30 seconds and cook well and use the same procedure for preparing. Avoid fruits and nuts for babies.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/4 cup almonds & peanuts soaked
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add water & milk on a saucepan and bring to heat on a medium flame.
  • While boiling add oats gradually and give a stir so that no lumps are formed. Cook for 3 minutes. Switch off the flame.
  • Once the oatmeal is warm, add buttermilk and give a nice stir. Add the soaked peanuts and almonds(remove the skin).
  • Transfer to the serving glass or bowl, add pom seeds on top and serve.
